        Kedai Makanan Tai Chien (大千茶餐室) is one of the popular spots among Taiping locals. Also, this coffee shop  always bustling with activities during the breakfast period.  In Taiping's early hours, the tables were already mostly full. Also, the Tai Chien's popiah (薄饼)  is very famous among Taiping folk. The popiah skin is extremely thin, with delectable fillings of shredded omelette, lettuce, “sar kok” (turnip) and a dash of chili sauce.  You should try this popiah when you come to Taiping.
